Air Conditioning & Heat Pump

Air Conditioning & Heat Pump

Air conditioning and heat pump installation in the San Fernando Valley

An air conditioner that's too large short-cycles and leaves the house humid and uneven. One that's too small runs all afternoon and never catches up. The unit on the pad is only part of the answer — duct sizing, return air and insulation decide what you actually feel.

A heat pump is the same equipment working in both directions: it cools in summer and heats in winter without a gas furnace. For most Valley houses it's the straightforward replacement when an old AC and furnace are both at the end of their life.

Typical timeline

A straight system changeout is usually one to two days. Adding ductwork, converting to a heat pump or running new circuits pushes it to three or four.

What's included

The scope, in plain terms

Load calculation and sizing

Sizing based on your square footage, insulation, window area and orientation instead of copying whatever tonnage was there before.

System replacement

Condenser, air handler or coil, refrigerant line set, condensate drainage, pad and electrical disconnect installed to code.

Heat pump conversions

Replacing an aging AC-and-furnace pair with a single heat pump system that handles both seasons, including the electrical work it needs.

Ductless mini-splits

Room-by-room zones for additions, converted garages, offices and back bedrooms the main system never reached.

Ductwork

Replacing collapsed or leaking flex duct, adding returns, and sealing the connections that quietly dump cold air into the attic.

Thermostats and zoning

Programmable and smart thermostats, and zoning where one system serves parts of the house with very different loads.

Questions

What homeowners ask about air conditioning & heat pump

Is a heat pump a good fit for the Valley?+

Our winters are mild, which is the climate heat pumps handle best. The main considerations are your electrical panel capacity and duct condition, and we check both before quoting.

Why is one room always hotter?+

Nine times out of ten it's duct and return air, not the unit. We measure before recommending a bigger system, because a bigger system won't fix a duct problem.

Do you handle permits for HVAC work?+

Yes. Equipment changeouts require a permit and inspection in most local jurisdictions, and we pull them as part of the job.

We work in Woodland Hills, Calabasas, Tarzana, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City and the surrounding communities. See the full service area.
