Kitchen Remodeling
Kitchen remodeling in Woodland Hills and the San Fernando Valley
A kitchen is the most coordinated room in a house. Cabinetry, stone, plumbing, gas, electrical, ventilation and appliances all have to land within a sixteenth of an inch of each other, and every one of them is ordered from a different supplier on a different lead time. Most kitchen remodels that go badly don't go badly because of craftsmanship — they go badly because nobody sequenced them.
We plan the whole build before demolition starts: measured drawings, appliance specifications, cabinet shop drawings and a stone template date. By the time your kitchen is open, we already know what lands in it and when.
Typical timeline
A typical kitchen in our market runs six to ten weeks of on-site construction once permits and materials are in hand. Custom cabinetry and imported stone are the usual reasons it stretches — we tell you which of your selections carry the long lead times before you commit to them.

What's included
The scope, in plain terms
Layout and structure
Removing walls between the kitchen and living areas, sizing and installing structural headers, relocating gas, waste and vent lines to suit the new plan.
Cabinetry
Custom and semi-custom cabinetry, full-height pantries, integrated appliance panels, interior fittings, and scribe work so the run actually meets the wall.
Countertops and backsplash
Slab selection at the yard, digital templating, fabrication and installation — quartz, quartzite, marble or porcelain, including waterfall ends and full-height slab backsplashes.
Appliances
Rough-ins for built-in refrigeration, ranges and rangetops, wall ovens, hoods, wine storage and pot fillers, coordinated with the manufacturer's specification sheets, not guesswork.
Electrical and lighting
New circuits to code, recessed and under-cabinet lighting, decorative pendants, dimming, and the outlets that current California code requires at islands and counters.
Floors and finishes
Continuous flooring between the kitchen and adjacent rooms, paint, trim, and the transition details that make a remodel read as original to the house.
Questions
What homeowners ask about kitchen remodeling
Do I need a permit to remodel a kitchen?+
If you're only replacing cabinets and counters in place, often not. Once you move plumbing or gas, add circuits, or remove a wall, you do — and we pull it. Skipping a permit is what turns a remodel into a problem when you sell the house.
Can I stay in the house during a kitchen remodel?+
Most clients do. We set up dust containment, protect flooring on the path in and out, and can help you rig a temporary kitchen with the old sink or a utility sink.
What does a kitchen remodel cost in the San Fernando Valley?+
It depends almost entirely on cabinetry, stone and appliances — the same footprint can triple in price based on selections. We give you a line-item estimate with allowances so you can see exactly which decisions are moving the number.
We work in Woodland Hills, Calabasas, Tarzana, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City and the surrounding communities. See the full service area.
