Exterior Painting

Exterior Painting

Exterior painting prepared to last, not just to look good on day one

Exterior paint in Southern California fails from sun before it fails from rain. South and west elevations fade and chalk years before the shaded sides, and paint applied over chalky, cracked or unprimed stucco lets go early no matter how good the product is.

The preparation is the job. We wash, repair, caulk and prime first, and then apply coatings rated for this climate.

Typical timeline

A typical single-story house takes three to six days depending on repairs and the amount of hand trim. Heat and moisture can shift the schedule; we don't rush recoat times.

Two-coat application of exterior-grade acrylic products, sprayed and back-rolled on stucco for an even film.

Questions

What homeowners ask about exterior painting

How often should a Valley house be repainted?+

Roughly every seven to twelve years for stucco, less on the sun-exposed elevations. Chalking, hairline cracking and fading are the signs to watch for.

Do you paint the eaves and fascia too?+

Yes, and we inspect them first. Fascia is where sun and gutter overflow do the most damage, and painting over soft wood just hides it.

Can you match my existing color?+

We can match closely, but sun-faded paint never matches a fresh can exactly. If you're only doing one elevation, we'll be honest about how visible the line will be.

We work in Woodland Hills, Calabasas, Tarzana, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City and the surrounding communities. See the full service area.
