Artificial Turf
Artificial turf built on a base that drains and stays flat
Turf that ripples, holds odors or drains into a puddle wasn't a bad product — it was a bad base. The visible grass is the last two hours of a multi-day job.
We excavate, build and compact an aggregate base with slope to drainage, secure the perimeter, and then seam, nail and infill the turf so it stays flat under sun and foot traffic.
Typical timeline
A standard front or back yard takes two to four days depending on size, access and how much existing hardscape has to come out.

What's included
The scope, in plain terms
Excavation and grading
Removing existing lawn and soil to depth, then grading so water moves toward drainage instead of sitting in the middle of the yard.
Base and compaction
Crushed aggregate base laid in lifts and plate-compacted to a firm, even surface — the step that decides how the lawn looks in year three.
Turf selection
Blade height, color blend and face weight chosen for the use: pets, kids, putting surface or a purely visual front yard.
Seaming and anchoring
Seams glued and stitched so they disappear, perimeter secured with nails or edging against hardscape.
Infill
Silica or antimicrobial infill brushed in to keep blades upright, add ballast and help the surface drain and stay cooler.
Drainage and pet areas
Permeable base throughout, plus drains or deodorizing infill where dogs use the yard daily.
Questions
What homeowners ask about artificial turf
Does turf get hot in the sun?+
Yes — synthetic grass gets hotter than live grass in direct afternoon sun. Lighter-colored products and cooling infills reduce it, and shaded areas stay comfortable. We'd rather you know that before installation than after.
How do you handle dogs?+
Permeable base, extra drainage and an infill designed for pet areas, plus a rinse routine. It handles daily use well; it isn't maintenance-free.
How long does artificial turf last?+
Good product on a correctly built base typically holds up well over a decade in our climate. The base is what determines whether you get those years.
